Position Summary
Måne Energi is seeking a motivated and solution-oriented Safety and Automation Systems Engineer to support the delivery of automation, safety, and control system solutions for energy, industrial, and offshore projects. The successful candidate will contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development and design to testing, commissioning support, and operational improvements.
The role requires a combination of technical competence, structured problem-solving, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SAS engineering deliverables in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Prepare technical documentation such as IO List, FPDS, C&E, SCDs, ESD/PSD Block logic and work package, design specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Participate in system design of process, utility and electrical systems (interface, Functional Specification, Systems Control Diagram and HMI input), configuration, and verification activities.
- Participate in multidiscipline fire and gas safety reviews, HAZID and HAZOP.
- Coordinate interfaces between automation, electrical, process, instrumentation, and telecom disciplines.
- Follow up vendors and vendor technical documentation; participate in test activities/FAT and Integrated FAT.
- Support design reviews, technical workshops, and client meetings.
- Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist during testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and cyber security requirements.
- Provide technical support throughout engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, maintainability, and operational performance.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Automation Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Cybernetics
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Process Control
- Or a related engineering discipline
- Practical experience with industrial automation and control systems.
- Understanding of engineering documentation and project execution processes.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Preferred
- Experience from any energy, offshore, marine, industrial, or infrastructure projects. At least more than 5 years of experience.
- Norwegian language proficiency (written and/or verbal) is considered an advantage and may be beneficial for communication with customers, suppliers, authorities, and project stakeholders.
- Knowledge of:
- Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
- Process Control Systems (PCS)
- SCADA systems
- PLC and HMI platforms
- Instrumentation and field devices
- Industrial communication networks
- Familiarity with:
- IEC standards
- NORSOK standards
- Functional safety principles
- Cybersecurity requirements for industrial systems
